Reminisce the good old times

Middle age is when your classmates are so gray and wrinkled and bald they don't recognize you. - Bennett Cerf

Every TISSian reminisce the moment they have arrived on the campus... the nervousness, the excitement… happiness to be part of this great tradition called Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

An Alumni Meet celebrates, refreshes old relationships, helps us go down the memory lane. Also, look forward for new interactions with new hopes. Someone has rightly said, ‘time endears but cannot fade the memories that friends have made.’ In fact every memory of friendship shared, even for a short time, is a treasure. At times when we recall the past, we realise that it is the simplest things that in retrospect showers on us immense pleasure.

We at TISSAA understand that you would love to reminisce your TISS days with your besties and at your very own campus. The thrill to come back on the campus again is indeed a pleasant one. So we encourage every batch to come over to TISS and soak deeply in this energy profusely available at this classic campus. As each one of us are aware TISS is not just an educational institute, it’s a living movement which has contributed immensely in the development not just of India but several other countries as well.

TISSAA is too glad to host the batches of 1975-77 & 1976-78, who will be visiting the campus after a gap of 40 years. It was not an easy task to bring these 42 gems together. They have been scattered across the globe busy with their career and families.

As Mr Virendra Kishore Bagchi who pursued his M Phil from TISS informed us, what started as a small WhatsApp group has helped these alums come together and conduct a meeting at Madam Nayan’s Dadar residence, where they decided on organising two-day alums meet. As days grew near the enthusiasm to Re-Bond grew so much that alum such as Dr George P presently based out of Chicago booked his tickets to meet his dear friends and relive the memories. Leena Joshi and Prof Nasreen Rustomfram facilitated this alums meet along with their Organising Committee.

And it’s unbelievable that batchmates of 1975-77 and 1976-78 who were barely in touch with each are going to spend two whole days together and the binding factor is indeed the Alma Mater --- TISS. Yes, they truly believe in the saying that ‘The best antiques to collect are old friends.’

Join us as the celebrations spread across TISSAA platforms.
